Where To Go: West 3rd Street, LA

Drew Sutton of Carlton Drew for ONS Clothing

Drew Sutton’s, owner of Carlton Drew, W. 3rd Street recommendations …

The stretch of W. 3rd Street between La Cienega and Fairfax is home to specialty shops, local designers, acclaimed restaurants, and neighborhood hot spots.

After opening on Melrose in 2012, I moved Carlton Drew down to W. 3rd this past January. It was a scary decision to move that stemmed from having a greedy landlord and lack of foot traffic. But it’s a decision that I haven’t once regretted. I’ve fallen for this street. W. 3rd is alive… it’s got a buzz that is rare in LA. It feels neighborhoody and has a strong community vibe. The street is filled with local small businesses… businesses where you can walk in and speak to the owner. It’s the opposite of Melrose, and that’s a good thing.
