5 Must-Have Trends For SS17
The menswear industry is at an all time high with major fashion capitals and the most influential designers dedicating shows just to men. Not to mention the countless Instagram accounts, magazines, and websites (including ours) that constantly cover streetwear and style in general. With the SS17 season currently upon us, we’ve picked our top five favorite trends, and how you can get them without hurting your pocket.
Think Pink
Almost across the board, the guaranteed pop color of the season is pink — more specifically a soft and warm shade the industry is calling “dusty rose” While we’ve seen the trend executed head-to-toe on the runway, we suggest incorporating pink without going so bold. Simply add a pop of it by slipping on a pink crew neck tee.
Parkas and Rec
Parkas you say? In the summer? We know you’re thinking absolutely not, because clothes aren’t that important and who wants to spend all summer drenched in sweat. You won’t actually, designers are making the Spring/Summer offerings lighter, and much more breathable, so you’ve got nothing to worry about.
Earn Your Stripes
So yes, stripes are always a thing in menswear. So what’s the difference this season? Colorblocking. Whether you choose vertical or horizontal is up to you, but it’s important to note, most designers kept the stripes comfy cozy applying them in knitwear. Striped polos, lightweight textured sweaters, and t-shirts are a go this spring.
Checkmate
From windowpanes to Prince of Wales checks, squares and plaids are all over the place this season. Blazers, topcoats, trousers, you can’t miss it. Why? Our guess is it’s a fun and breezy way to add pattern in the height of heat. We’ve got our fair share of plaid this season, but hands down, the winner is the classy Connor Car Coat.
Army Strong
You thought it was dead, didn’t you? No no, just like the bomber jacket, as long as you keep it smart and casual, camouflage is here to stay. Although less of a trend now and more of a seasonal update green camo is always a go, but varying colors and progressive patterns are worth a look too.
