To Truly Get in Shape, Make the City Your Gym
No matter where you live, getting in shape can be a hassle. Join a gym. Make sure you get there often enough to make it worth your money. Workout then straggle home exhausted. But that’s not always necessary. Obviously runners and cyclists just head out their front door to get their exercise fixes, no membership required. And you can do the same, even if you’re not looking to hit the road. Instead, hit your local park, where things like monkey bars can be used as a pull-up station. Add in some jumping rope, push ups, and crunches, and now the city’s your gym. Even better, many cities actually have dedicated workout installments in their parks, allowing you to do pull-ups, dips, and all sorts of other exercise and stretches. Now you have no excuse. But, when you’re working out outside, you’re going to want to look your best, leaving your tattered go-to gym tee in the laundry. To help, we’ve dialed up an exercise-ready outfit that’s ready for action but doesn’t sacrifice style. Throw on a pair of our Acadia Shorts, a French Terry Hoodie, and bring along our Herron Packable Vest to layer up if need be.
