Christian Blanchet X ONS at NYMFW
It’s a new chapter in the evolution of men’s fashion. Earlier this month (from July 13 – 16), the first ever New York Men’s fashion week took place. We collaborated with style expert and lifestyle influencer Christian Blanchet for coverage of all the various fashion happenings. Christian styled himself in Onassis pieces from our current SS15 and also our upcoming AW 15/16 collections. We also stole a few moments with Mr. Blanchet to gain more insight into his overall fashion and style influences.
How did you first become interested in fashion and style?
Growing up in and around my Dad’s photography studio as a kid, I was really intrigued by people, fashion and how clothing can dictate so much about how a person looks and feels. Secondly, and this is where my own personal style was born, I was surrounded by a very stylish group of friends from Europe while in college. They really opened my eyes to what dressing up really means.
You currently work at Macy’s in addition to your other projects. What do you do at Macy’s and tell us more about ChristianBlanchet.com?
My role at Macy’s is Marketing Manager of Menswear. I help to bring to life the Macy’s advertisements in magazines, newspapers, online, etc. ChristianBlanchet.com at its core is a place to inspire others to be the best version of themselves. Whether that’s through the way they dress, or the life they want to live, its my goal that BLANCHET helps to inspire them to do that.
We are pleased to have you as a supporter of our brand. What do you like the most about Onassis?
I like the style and fit of the clothing. Every piece I own has become a staple piece in my wardrobe. It’s a brand that works as my day-to-day go to; whether I am hanging out with friends or getting work done at the office.
Lastly, how would you rate your overall experience at the first ever NY Fashion Week for men?
The entire week was done impeccably well. The future of menswear has never been brighter! I am excited to see what’s next!
