All Dressed Up For The Gallery
Whether you’re an artist, curator, collector, dealer or interested observer, it’s always important to look the part when you’re navigating the Art World. Here are 3 different ensembles we put together for 3 distinct types of art outings.
Evening At The Guggenheim:
You’ve been invited by one of your “more cultured” friends to the opening of a Frida Kahlo retrospective at the Guggenheim. The dress code is formal, but not uptight. Here is exactly what you do: Wear our slim-fitting, crinkle linen, navy suit with our dapper leaf print shirt. Throw on a pair of all-white Vans, accessorize with tinted shades, and call it a day.
Opening At David Zwirner Gallery:
It’s the opening night for one of the hottest contemporary artists du jour, Oscar Murillo. The cool & sexy crowd will be present, but it’s definitely not a stuffy setting. The perfect pieces for this engagement: distressed, faded O.N.S Houston-fit denim, the Dot Jacquard woven shirt and our versatile deconstructed, patch pocket blazer. Yes, it’s a denim-anchored look, but it exudes modern sophistication.
Avant-Garde Affair At Half Gallery:

Now it’s time to pull out the big guns. The venue is Bill Powers’s Half Gallery, and it’s a viewing of works by seminal artist, painter and art critic, Rene Ricard. The edgy, avant-garde crowd will be there, so your outfit needs to hit the right notes. We suggest our cropped, cotton-linen blend trouser and the artsy, gradient-striped woven. For finishing touches, throw on a handsome, weathered blazer and add an accessory or two that really stand out. Just don’t overdo it.
Clothing shown is available at the O.N.S flagship at 71 Greene Street
