The 3 Outfits That Will Get You from December to February With Ease

When winter comes, the days get short, the temps get cold, and wind starts to howl and chill. But that doesn’t mean you can take a day off. You’ve still got to function during winter, and part of that is making sure your style doesn’t suffer for warmth. To help you out there, we’ve picked three winter outfits—one for each month of the season—that will keep you looking fresh, while helping fend off the winter weather and even the winter blues.

December—The Darkest Month

In the Northern Hemisphere, December is the darkest month of the year. In New York, for example, the sun sets around 4:28pm during the middle of the month, leaving many people feeling depressed and cold. To combat both those problems, we suggest layering up and adding some color to your wardrobe. Start with our Roll Neck Sweater in peacock blue, add one of our Quilted Vests, throw on our chocolate brown Wool Kent Blazer, and accent your outfit with warming accessories like a grey beanie and navy scarf. Boom, now you’re warm and have a little color in your life to brighten up those dark days.

January—The Coldest, Snowiest Month

While December may be dark and chilly, January is downright freezing and packed full of snow. Yes, it is indeed the snowiest and coldest month of the year. That means you’ll want all aspects of your outfit to be ready for anything. Here, start with our Wool Pants to keep those legs warm up, add our truly luxe extrafine Merino wool Roll Neck Sweater, and top it all off with our heavy-duty Patrol Parka, which features a fleece-lined hood and Thinsulate insulation. It’s our warmest jacket, which is just what you need to survive January.

February—The Shortest Month

February is the shortest month of the year, but that doesn’t mean that winter’s last gasp is any easier to bear. Sure, you’re almost there, spring is in sight, but February isn’t much warmer or drier than its predecessor January. And, to make matters worse, you’re probably exhausted by all the cold and snow anyway. February, then, is the month when you’re just about over it. But that’s no excuse to phone-in your style. Instead, you can treat yourself to warmth and ease, while still looking great. The first step is throwing on a pair of our BKLYN Joggers,  soft, cozy, and stylish pants that are easy to wear. Then, add on our cotton fleece Fulton Shirt and our Merino wool Cable Knit Cardigan for layered, comfy warmth. Up top, wrap up in our Wool-Cashmere Scarf and Beanie combo, and you’ll be insulated from everything cold by the softest, warmest wool out there, from head down to ankle.
