Entertaining At Home: The Boozy Brunch
Let’s be honest, leaving the office on Friday afternoon is simply “the jam.” That tingling excitement you feel for the weekend ahead, the spring in your step while you’re saying farewell to your work colleagues, the anticipation of sipping your first happy hour cocktail; there’s nothing quite like it. And speaking of weekend activities, one of the top pastimes for city dwellers has to be meeting up with the crew for a long, inebriated Sunday morning brunch. True connoisseurs know that when brunch is executed well, it does wonders for delaying the inevitable Monday morning blues.
However, the one hitch that comes with brunch is that if you’re still hung over and half brain-dead from the night before, waking up and getting ready to rendezvous with your compadres can be a really big ask.
But not to worry, in the first of our “Entertaining at Home” series, we are taking the stress out of brunch by offering you a recipe for a killer “stay-at-home” seasonal cocktail. It’s called the Green + Tonic; it’s refreshing, packs a punch and your crew will be absolutely floored by your mixology skills.
Here are the ingredients and visual instructions for how to make a “Green + Tonic” below:
1.5 oz. Fords Gin
3-4 oz. Fever Tree Tonic Water
1 Fresh Celery Stalk
Fresh Seasonal Herbs (thyme, tarragon, bay leaf, sage, rosemary, basil)
2 Lime Wheels
First off, add Fords Gin to a rocks glass filled with ice.
Next, garnish with fresh celery and seasonal herbs.
Next, add Tonic water and lime wheels.
To meld all the flavors, give it a gentle stir.
All the hard work is done. It’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
