This fall, Depp gets back into gangster mode with the much-hyped flick Black Mass. The movie is based on the true story of 70’s Irish mobster James “Whitey” Bulger and his ruthless reign of crime and violence. The movie packs some serious talent including Benedict Cumberbatch and Joel Edgerton. If you’re a fan of mob flicks, don’t miss this movie. Release Date: 09/18/2015
THE MARTIAN:

SICARIO:
If you’re already a convert of the Netflix hit, Narcos, then Sicario should be right up your alley. The movie deals with the drug wars going on between the FBI and the brutal Mexican cartels. The protagonist here is an ambitious FBI agent played by Emily Blunt. She’s recruited into a shadowy task force operated by a stone-faced government official and a callous enforcer played by Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro respectively. The film is a gritty and undiluted look into the world of drugs, money and murder and the Mexican/US border serves as the dusty backdrop. Release Date: 10/2/2015
STEVE JOBS:
There was a Jobs movie that came out in 2013 starring Ashton Kutcher that received mixed reviews. Well, you can forget about that project, because it was just the interlude to the main event. This October, a new movie titled Steve Jobs is coming out starring Michael Fassbender as the digital visionary and co-starring Kate Winslet and Seth Rogan. The reason this movie is so highly anticipated is its director, Danny Boyle. He is the auteur behind classics like Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Days. Pull up a seat for this one, it’s going to be one hell of a ride. Release Date: 10/9/2015
Bridge of Spies:
Who doesn’t like a smart espionage movie with lots of intelligent dialog and suspenseful scenarios? The movie, Bridge of Spies directed by legendary Hollywood director Steven Spielberg might just be one of the sleeper hits of the fall. The movie stars Tom Hanks as a New York lawyer during the Cold War era charged with the negotiating a prisoner exchange with the Russians. It feels like Spielberg might be returning to his Munich days, and you know what, that’s a very good thing. Release Date: 10/16/2015
SPECTRE:
When a new Bond movie comes out, it’s never a choice about whether you’re going to see it, it’s more about when. Spectre drops in November, and this one even has added significance because it’s probably the last Bond movie that Daniel Craig will be starring in. The villain in this new installment will be played by the always excellent, Christoph Waltz. The rumor going around is that Idris Elba might be called upon to be the next Bond, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Release Date: 11/6/15
STAR WARS EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS:
December is going to be a huge movie month this year, and perhaps no other film is more highly anticipated than Star Wars Episode VII. The stakes are even higher for this new trilogy because JJ Abrams, the blockbuster producer/director behind shows like Lost & Fringe and movies like Star Trek and the latest Mission Impossible movies is directing it. Also the cool factor with this new installment is most of the original cast, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are back in cameo roles. The stakes are riding really high on this one. Release Date: 12/18/2015
CONCUSSION:
This is the movie the NFL doesn’t want you to see. Even though football is still the most popular American sport by far, the league has been going through its share of problems. Disciplinary problems, widespread off-field indiscretions and the disturbing trend of serious concussions sustained during play. This movie tackles the concussion issue by telling the story of a brilliant neuro-pathologist who discovers the connection between football-related injuries and dangerous brain trauma. Concussion stars Will Smith, and it’s fair to say that the former box office king needs a hit really badly. Release Date: 12/25/2015
THE HATEFUL EIGHT:
Quentin Tarantino is back, and it seems the wait for his return would have been well worth it. His eighth movie is appropriately titled The Hateful Eight and it stars an impressive line-up of A-list talent including Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir, Channing Tatum and more. The story is typical twisted Tarantino fare; a post-Civil War cabin filled with eight lawmen and outlaws seeking shelter from a wicked blizzard. From this set-up, one can only surmise that the plate has been duly set for mayhem and intriguing drama. Release Date: 12/25/2015
